Today I visited the Academy of Fine arts which houses Michelangelo's David. And then we saw Signoria square. No picture can come close to portraying the mastery and cleverness that is in David. you can see the fear yet courage in his eyes. I saw several other items in Signoria square that didn't somehow compare at all to the transcendence of David. I would love to visit signoria square when it is not raining. I am sure that it would be simply charming but I couldnt really grasp the beauty when it was so drab and gelid. Someday I wish to visit this square in the sun.
